My name is Micah and I’m a male college student trying to figure out what he’s going to do with his life! So far I’ve been pondering over being a missionary, pastor, or writer, but I have plenty of time to figure those things out for the future. Neighborhoodotaku is my online name and it came about because I’ve always thought about myself as a Christian “Mr. Rodgers” in the anime community, sharing about love, peace, and Jesus to those who need Him.
Anime has been a part of my life since childhood with Pokemon VHRs and Yugioh on 4Kids TV, but it grew into a passion in sophomore year of high school when my friends introduced me to Shaman King and Sword Art Online. Now, I’m keeping up with the current shows coming out on Crunchyroll (when I’m not dumped with homework by my teachers) and dipping my feet into waters like manga and light novels. For those interested, I’m dropping my otaku diet and what I’ve rated those anime from Myanimelist here.
Fullmetal Alchemist, Orange, Fairy Tail, and Madoka Magica are my favorites so far.
I’m a southern boy at heart (I promise I don’t have a heavy accent or drive a large pickup truck) and have many other hobbies besides anime. Playing competitive Pokemon and Super Smash Bros, cliff jumping off anything into water where I won’t die from the fall, challenging my friends to basketball, repairing and refurbishing Game Boy Colors, and writing are some of the things that I do when I’m not obsessing over my otaku passions.
So that’s a little bit about who I am and what I enjoy! I personally welcome you to Otaku Collision!
