Otaku Collision

Where Anime and Faith Collide

About Me

My name is Micah Marshall (aka Neighborhoodotaku) and I am a college student, Chick-Fil-A employee (yes, I say “my pleasure” so many times that some days I want to kill myself), and general goof ball. When I’m not drowning in homework, you can usually find me drawing, cliff jumping, or playing Pokemon. Music is a therapy session for me; my counselors are NF, Hillsong United, Thousand Foot Krutch, and Skillet. I’m an extroverted introvert (weird, huh?) who craves relationships with people but can’t seem to have a meaningful conversation beyond how the weather is outside. I love all humans regardless of sexual orientation, religion, race, gender, etc.

When it comes to anime, my kind of shows are the ones that impact me personally. Hope, love, courage, romance and especially grace are the themes I look for. My deep thinking mind enjoys being challenged with new ways to live my life and I enjoy sharing those experiences with others. Orange, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, and Madoka Magica are among my favorites to watch and rewatch.

For those who do not know, I am a believer who lives each day to follow King Jesus. Faith is the center of my life and I have no idea where I would be without God holding me up. Jesus came right to where I was and wrapped His arms around me. He showed me what love really is and He adopted me as His son.

I hope that readers who don’t know God wouldn’t be put off by my faith. Even with differing journeys of life, we can still be friends. With that said, friends love each other and as someone who knows the truth, I won’t hesitate to love my readers by sharing Jesus with you. I mean, if I know the purpose for living and the God who created us, wouldn’t I be pretty hateful to hide that? In the same breath, friendship isn’t dependent on disagreements. Regardless of whether you choose to follow Jesus and see His amazing work through anime, we can still be friends.

Anyways, its nice to introduce myself and I hope you learned more about the heart behind this blog!
